The Jasmine Garden by May Lindstrom is a premium organic facial toner designed for all skin types. Featuring rare and potent botanical ingredients, the Jasmine Garden promises to be both a refreshing mist and effective solution for dry skin, inflammation, and even acne breakouts. With so much fan fare around this product, we couldn’t help but wonder—is the Jasmine Garden really worth the investment? Could a facial toner make a big difference in our skin? Are the ingredients in the Jasmine Garden really as pure as the brand claims?

We set out to answer these questions (and many more) the old fashioned way: by using the product ourselves! Our team of reviewers trialed May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden toner for two weeks. During that time, we analyzed online user reviews, researched each ingredient, and faithfully used the product daily as instructed.

At the end of our trial, the Jasmine Garden earned an overall Review Score of an “A.” The Jasmine Garden is crafted from just 8 simple, yet powerful ingredients which are 100% active, high-quality, and all natural. The formula includes rare anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredients such as organic Bulgarian Rose Damascena oil, jasmine extract, and colloidal silver. When it comes to results, there is definitely more to the Jasmine Garden than just hype. During our two week trial, our review team experienced many of the positive skin benefits claimed by both the brand and happy online customers.

Below, you’ll find a complete summary of our in-depth two week review of May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden organic toner and facial mist. Our reviews are organized into three categories: The Clean Ingredient Score (is the product made with clean ingredients?), Product Design & Effectiveness Score (does it actually work?), and the Online Customer Review Score (what is everyone else saying?). Combined, this review should provide everything you need to decide if the Jasmine Garden is right for you. Enjoy!

May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden organic toner and facial mist has earned our highest Clean Ingredient Score of an “A+” for its 100% natural and organic formula. The Jasmine Garden is made with 8 ingredients of which 4 are certified organic including witch hazel, Bulgarian rose oil, ylang ylang, and vanilla extract. Because this formula contains naturally anti-microbial and anti-fungal ingredients (such as colloidal silver, witch hazel, and rose oil), the Jasmine Garden does not contain an additional preservative system outside of its active ingredients. The formula is highly concentrated and contains no fillers such as water or aloe vera juice.  The Jasmine Garden is completely vegan and also completely free of hidden ingredients, artificial fragrances, GMOs, gluten, and anything synthetic.

Clean Ingredient Summary

Top Clean Ingredients

  • Colloidal Silver: Tiny silver particles suspended in liquid. Thought to have beneficial uses ranging from preservative (antibacterial and anti-fungal) to restorative (helps restore dry, damaged skin).
  • Witch Hazel: A popular herb best known for its astringent properties. Witch hazel is often used in skin care for its antibacterial, astringent, and oil-balancing functions.
  • Jasmine Flower: A highly aromatic flower with a very distinct scent. Often used in skin care for its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, skin-soothing, and hydrating properties.
  • Bulgarian Rose Damascena Oil: An incredibly rare and luxurious oil (costs upward of $400/oz) considered to be one of the most potent anti-aging, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory essential oils. True organic Bulgarian Rose Damascena oil is very rare to find in anything other than luxury skin care formulations due to its premium cost.

Preservatives Used:

  • None: Naturally preservative free due to the inclusion of active ingredients such as colloidal silver, witch hazel, and rose oil.

May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden facial mist has earned a Product Design & Effectiveness Score of an “A+”. Our team trialed the Jasmine Garden for two weeks alongside May Lindstrom’s Blue Cocoon Balm and The Clean Dirt Exfoliating Powder.

When it comes to design, the Jasmine Garden knocks it out of the park. The product comes packaged in a sleek, sturdy, and stunning black glass mist bottle. Both the bottle and the outer packaging come with a sticker indicating the date and batch number of the product; this way, you’ll always know if your product was made fresh (which, in our opinion, makes a lot of difference). The spray bottle pumps out a nice light mist each time without ever getting clogged. Just a few mists is all it takes to cover most of the face, neck, and shoulders.

The very first thing we noticed about the Jasmine Garden was its striking jasmine scent. Jasmine has a beautiful and unique scent that cannot be missed. The scent is somewhat softened by the addition of rose oil, vanilla, and ylang ylang. Our reviewer’s all gave the Jasmine Garden high ratings for its floral scent with some calling it “uplifting,” “addictive,” and “like being in a real garden.” Because the Jasmine Garden was crafted for all skin types, we recruited reviewers with a variety of skin types ranging from excessively dry to very sensitive (and everything in between including oily, acne, combo, and normal). It is worth noting that none of our reviewers, even our most sensitive skin types, experienced any irritation while trialing the Jasmine Garden. This facial mist is indeed refreshing, balancing, and soothing. The formula seems somewhat adaptive and responds to the needs of each skin types. For example, our dry skin reviewers reported experiencing more hydration while oilier skin types reported feeling less oily and more balanced. We were unable to test this product on individuals with severe acne, but one reviewer who suffers from frequent breakouts did report a reduction in the “inflamed” appearance of active breakouts.

Note: For anyone wondering about the luxury price tag—look no further than the Jasmine Garden’s ingredients. The Jasmine Garden is made with authentic certified organic Bulgarian Rose Damascena oil. Not only is this oil incredibly rare and potent, it also come at a premium price tag of over $400/oz (that’s $1 per drop!). Most skin care products that use rose oil will use non-organic rose oil or they will use an oil from a different rose (roses that are more affordable, yet not as potent). True Bulgarian Rose Damascena essential oil is prized because it is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-aging essential oils found anywhere in the world. In our opinion, the three most notable ingredients of the Jasmine Garden are organic witch hazel, colloidal silver, and organic rose damascena oil.

Our team analyzed 105 online customer reviews for May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden facial toner from 6 different online retailers (including stores like Follain, Detox Market, Aillea, and Petit Vour). Across all retailers, the Jasmine Garden earned an average customer review of 4.7/5 stars–earning a solid score of “A” for our Online Customer Review Score. It was clear from our analysis that the vast majority of reviews for the Jasmine Garden were positive. In fact, only 2 out of 104 reviewers left a one-star review (both reviewers reported experiencing irritation with use). We found a total of 13 critical reviews of the Jasmine Garden. The largest criticism of the product revolved around it’s premium price; with some reviewers saying that they would not repurchase due to the luxury price and others claiming that they felt as though they could replicate the product. On the positive side (90/104 reviews), customers applauded the Jasmine Garden for it’s ability to soothe redness, calm acne breakouts, hydrate dry skin, and for its true floral scent (which some claimed was less overpowering). There were many positive reviews from customers claiming to suffer from acne and blemishes (the combination of the witch hazel, colloidal silver, and rose oil is well suited for acne prone and oily skin types). It is also worth noting that many reviewers appeared to be long-time users of May Lindstrom products as they often mention using other May Lindstrom products in their beauty routine in addition to the Jasmine Garden.
